Posted June 1, 2016. OK, I had some work done to the car about 6-8 weeks ago, under warranty, as I had just bought the car used. The work carried out was to do with the inlet cam actuator, but it also had a solenoid and cambelt replacement. Before the work, I check the spark plug wells and it was as clean as a whistle in there.

I had a Focus Mk1 1.8 Zetec it had circa 80k on the clock when it was written off. It never needed topping up between it's annual oil change. Same with my current Mk2 1.6, never moves off the full maker on the dip stick, in fact that goes for all the cars I've owned in the last forty odd years.

The indicated compression pressure are considered within specification if the lowest reading cylinder is within 75% of the highest reading. Thats a joke and a half. My cyl readings were 155, 170, 170, 170. 75% of 170 is 127.5.
